When I was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy at 16, my relationship with food changed overnight. I spent the next decade fighting in the kitchen to keep flavor in my food while I cut added salt from my diet, and I am ready to share my knowledge and food with the rest of the world. No matter the reason for seeking out a low-sodium diet, Unsalted Chef is here to help you achieve your health goals. 

Whether through professional catering, hands-on cooking class, trusted recipes or curated low-sodium pantry staples, Unsalted Chef is here to be your resource. 

Our Resources For You

I strongly believe that managing a low-sodium diet should be accessible to everyone, regardless of financial means. That is why the primary focus of Unsalted Chef is providing completely free resources for all.

Over the years, my mom and I have developed and tested hundreds of low-sodium recipes—from sauces and dressings to hearty entrees and desserts. While much of this library is still being digitized, I am hard at work moving everything from my head to the screen. You can already explore a growing collection on our Recipe Search page, and for a real-time look at what I’m cooking, you can find more recipes and daily inspiration on my Instagram or Facebook. We’re adding new dishes constantly, so keep checking back as this bank continues to grow!

The next phase of resources at Unsalted Chef is going to be a Low-Sodium Product Guide of tested store bought products that smooth the road to a low sodium diet. We are also building a Helpful Hints page with practical advice on eating out, calculating sodium content and more. And lastly a series of digital Step-by-Step Cooking Classes designed to build confidence for anyone new to the kitchen. I will post updates on Instagram and Facebook as these resources become available so follow me to stay in the loop.

That’s why the secondary focus of Unsalted Chef is to provide hands-on services for when you simply need an extra set of hands to lighten the load. Please note these direct services will be exclusive to the Chicago IL area while Unsalted Chef grows. 

Catering: The best way to lighten the load is to give it completely to someone else. Unsalted Chef will soon offer low sodium catering for small events so the next time you are planning a special occasion you can focus on the celebration and leave the cooking to me! 

In Person Cooking Classes: Connect with other low-sodium connoisseurs while learning to create a delicious, low-sodium feast! Unsalted Chef will soon be hosting in-person classes  where you can master new culinary techniques and enjoy a fun, social night out.

Personal Kitchen Support: Whether you want to work side-by-side to build your cooking skills or prefer to have the work done for you, I’m here to help. I offer personalized kitchen sessions to help you stock your pantry, fridge, and freezer with low-sodium essentials. From prep-work and grocery hauls to filling your freezer with ready-to-heat favorites like lasagna, enchiladas, and more, I handle the logistics so you can simply enjoy the food.
